Need a manuscript critique? This literary auction is raising money to support Minnesotans.

In further news of book people showing up for each other, and for the rest of us, a dedicated group of publishing and culture workers has organized an auction to raise funds in support of communities terrorized by ICE and DHS. Lots of books, Zoom meetings, and art will be available for bidding in the Publishing for Minnesota auction starting tomorrow, with all the proceeds going to “organizations providing legal aid, emergency assistance, food, and community resources to those in urgent need.”
The organizers are “a group of authors, illustrators, agents, and editors who believe the time is now for collective action.” Acting out of a dedication to neighborism, the group gathered a number of auction items from fellow writers, artists, and industry professionals that will be available for purchase. The funds raised will support Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota, Women’s Foundation of Minnesota, Midwest Immigrant Bond Fund, Dios Habla Hoy Church Food Distribution, Community Aid Network MN, Central Area Neighborhood Development, the national organization Immigrant Defense Project and the New York-based HandsOffNYC.
There’s a ton of cool stuff up for auction, including a lot of meetings and feedback sessions with publishing executives, authors, agents, and editors. They also have manuscript critiques available, query feedback sessions, author school visits, art prints, signed books, and more. I tried to scroll through and pick out some highlights, but it’s honestly all highlights—there’s something for just about every reader and writer.
Bidding opens tomorrow at 12:00 AM EST and will run through Friday at 11:45 PM EST. You can get more info on the auction and browse the offerings on their website and their Instagram.
